Henzman’s distress-flag post and stated priorities

On Aug. 26, 2025, Henzman posted an upside-down American-flag graphic that says “AMERICA IS IN DISTRESS.” Her full caption opens, “I DON'T CARE about Cracker Barrel. I DO CARE about:” and then sets out the political concerns she says deserve attention.

Henzman says people are being “snatched off the streets and detained or deported WITHOUT DUE PROCESS!” She calls facilities being built and populated in her state “Multiple Modern Day Concentration and Labor Camps,” and she criticizes what she describes as the starving of people in Gaza by Israel’s cruelty, the dismantling of USAID, and cuts to other foreign-aid programs.

She also says an armed National Guard is being turned on Americans as a police-state threat against blue states and cities, and criticizes the dismantling of clean energy for the benefit of oil and coal. Her caption raises human-rights concerns involving minorities, women, and LGBTQ people, as well as what she calls disregard for constitutional rights and freedom of speech.

Henzman concludes: “Our Country is burning, and you are worried about the optics.”

Her concerns about elections, state policy, and public resources

Henzman criticizes what she calls disregard for fairness and election integrity, describing Hoosier GOP legislators being called to the White House and directed to redistrict congressional districts. She also describes a new “30 day citizenship proof” for voter registration as a silencing of immigrants. She does not identify a statute in that passage or name the federal SAVE Act.

She says the state has shifted millions in tax revenue away from schools, cities, counties, police, and hospitals to provide major tax cuts to data centers and other polluters. Henzman argues those projects will strain Indiana’s resources and drive energy costs higher.

Her caption further criticizes defunding social services, grants, and community programs; criminalizing homelessness and punishing poor people; and what she calls the whitewashing of history and downplaying of racism and slavery. She says these developments are part of a “Cruel Oligarchy Dictatorship” being constructed and worries about the world being created for her children.

Her call for accountability for Epstein victims

Henzman demands justice for victims of Epstein’s child sex-trafficking ring and calls for charges against “ANY high profile, rich, or influential person, NO MATTER the party affiliation!” Her demand is for accountability regardless of political party.

She follows that demand with: “Listen to the survivors! Stop protecting pedophiles!!!!”

Flag Code context

The federal Flag Code says the flag “should never be displayed with the union down, except as a signal of dire distress in instances of extreme danger to life or property.” Henzman’s “AMERICA IS IN DISTRESS” wording invokes that distress symbolism.

Congressional Research Service explains that Flag Code provisions without enforcement mechanisms are generally declaratory and advisory. The Code supplies context for the symbol she chose; it does not make her graphic illegal.
