The supplied photos show Pride messages and support for transgender military service. The record also includes Henzman's May 2024 statement about opening the local Democratic Party to the LGBTQ community, her LGBT-support and equal-rights Facebook shares, and a Stonewall Democrats of NWI graphic naming her among its board.

Angie Henzman's LGBTQ+ advocacy record includes Pride imagery, a Support Trans Troops photo graphic, equal-rights Facebook shares, a call for a more inclusive local Democratic Party, and a Stonewall Democrats of NWI board graphic.

Pride graphics and support for transgender troops

Five additional supplied photos show Pride-themed graphics and a message supporting transgender military service. Their overlays include HAPPY PRIDE MONTH, Celebrate PRIDE!, and SUPPORT TRANS TROOPS with the hashtag #NOTRANSMILITARYBAN. Another reads LOVING OTHERS WHILE TURNING MY BACK TO HATE; the fifth uses a rainbow ribbon frame around an outdoor portrait.

Henzman called for a more inclusive party

In May 2024, while leaving the La Porte County Democratic Party chair position to focus on her clerk campaign, Henzman said her goal was to open the party to people who had felt excluded, including the LGBTQ community. “My goal was to open the party to those who had previously felt excluded such as women, minorities, young people and the LGBTQ community,” she said.

A Pride image on Henzman’s Facebook page

A Facebook screenshot labeled Angie Henzman and dated “Jun 13” shows a Pride-related image with flags and a sign reading, “Nobody’s FREE UNTIL EVERYBODY’S FREE!” The screenshot does not display a year. The sign’s words are shown in the image, not presented as Henzman’s own quotation.

Henzman shared LGBT-support and equal-rights graphics

Henzman shared an I Support LGBT pin advertisement that says, “You Are Safe With Me.” The August 7, 2023 date belongs to the original advertisement; the screenshot of Henzman’s share shows only a relative “7h” marker.

She also shared a graphic stating, “EQUAL RIGHTS FOR OTHERS DOES NOT MEAN FEWER RIGHTS FOR YOU. IT’S NOT PIE.” Rainbow Human Rights Community and Have A Gay Day are identified on the original graphic.

Stonewall Democrats of NWI named Henzman to its board

A Stonewall Democrats of NWI board graphic, captioned “my exceptional board,” names Henzman among the board. It is dated July 1 without a year and does not say whether the role remains current.

Indiana Stonewall Democrats and the Indiana Democratic Party describe an LGBTQ+ Democratic constituency caucus. Those organization pages provide context for the caucus but do not list a current Stonewall Democrats of NWI board.

Additional context

The Pride screenshot and Stonewall board graphic do not display a year, and the board graphic does not say whether the role remains current.

The repost screenshots show relative “7h” markers rather than calendar dates for Henzman’s shares.
